Nice hotel, good location, very close to the castle and 10 minutes walking from Karluv Most (puente de Carlos). Excellent breakfast with many different options to choose including a lot of fresh fruits. Staff very friendly. Bathroom need to be updated.
Ideal location and delightful stay
Our stay at the Appia Hotel was wonderful. Helpful, English speaking staff. Coffee and pastries available in the lobby at all times. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and we had a beautiful patio overlooking the lovely garden. The breakfast--which is included in the room price--- was a delicious feast served in a beautiful room on the top floor. The location was ideal--on a very quiet street but in easy walking distance to castle and about a 25 minute walk to old town. Can't wait to go back!
Did not disappoint
We chose Appia on the recent reviews. It was outstanding. The location is good, but on a quiet street. It is an easy walk to many of the attractions. The room, actually a suite, was clean, bright, well appointed, and air conditioned. At night we had a partial view of the lighted castle. The staff was helpful and enthusiastic. The breakfast was outstatanding and provided great variety. We could not be more pleased.
Great place to stay off the beaten path !
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel . The room was extra large and it included a living room separate from a big bedroom . The included buffet breakfast , which is served in a beautiful area , was delicious and plentiful . The hotel is walking distance to Prague Castle and Old Town Square . It is HIGHLY recommended.
What a great little hotel
I booked this for my wife's 50th birthday after looking on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed.
Everything was perfect... from the lovely host at reception, room cleaning, breakfast and spotlessly clean hotel in and out. Beautiful breakfast room in attic including champagne if you want it. Our suite was spacious with everything you need from a coffee machine to a Tv and large rooms.
Soooo clean everyday with new clean linen and towels.... great service.
Location was great to... just a short stroll to the castle and a short but very steep walk to Petrin Lookout tower. Some good restaurants close by but still a 25 minute walk over to Charles Bridge... so it's within a nice distance but away from the hussle and bussle of the city tourists.
A great place to spend a long weekend.
5 stars from me!
Very nice hotel
The hotel is located in a quiet area about 10/15 minutes walk from Charles Bridge. The junior suite we had was large, a little old fashioned but spotless and different from most hotels we stay in.
Staff are friendly and helpful, with free coffee and cake 24 hours a day.
Our only problem was the air con unit which even thought it was turned off still made strange noises every hour for around 60 seconds. We were moved to a different room but it was the same so ear plugs helped the next 2 nights. Also with the wooden floors sound seems to travel throughout the hotel so as light sleepers it was a little disturbing in the mornings. I suppose you can't blame the hotel for heavy footed guests.
If we had 3 nights good sleep it would be 5 star and would still recommend the hotel.
Better than many 5 star hotels
Excellent and quiet location, friendly and efficient staff, very clean everywhere, spacious bedrooms, incredible breakfast in a historical, medieval dining room. Would highly recommend and definitely return if visiting Prague again.
Prague..An excellent haven well located to visit the beautiful city
Appia Hotel Residences arranged our transfer car from the airport and staff were extremely friendly and helpful in all regards for our visit. The hotel is located within easy access of Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge/Old Town etc and was in a very quiet location too. Our room was excellent with a high standard of cleanliness and even had a terrace we could sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the tranquil walled garden.
The breakfasts were superb with a lovely choice of food served in the historic attic dinning room with the rustic beams preserved from many centuries ago.
Simply the Best...
... better than all the rest. I've been travelling on a 6 month holiday - feel free to be jealous - and have stayed in so many hotels I haven't had time to review, but Appia Hotel Residence was so spectacularly good it's jolted me out of my torpor. The hotel is built around the remains of 13th century church, the remains of which can be glimpsed outside the beautiful breakfast room - with its late renaissance early baroque ceiling. Like having breakfast in a medieval banqueting hall. The accommodation is 2 room suites plus bathroom; honestly I would be happy to live in this hotel.
The location is perfect, a 10 minute downhill walk to the Charles Bridge and the tourist hordes, and a 10 minute uphill walk to the castle and the rest of the tourist horde. But the streets around the hotel are completely quiet, as if protected by some kind of force field. The street entrance is unobtrusive and the staff are friendly and efficient. There is a manicured green courtyard with several places to sit. There's also a garage if you need to park a car. There's an extra charge for parking but I don't know how much as we didn't have a car. You definitely don't need a car in Prague.
Appia Residence is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at, and Prague is probably the best city in the world to be a tourist - a bit like Disneyland, but all real. I will come back to Prague another time and I will stay at Appia Residence again.
Do yourselves a favour...
Great hotel - central but quiet location close to castle and walkable to all tourist locations, historic building - large comfortable rooms , pleasant and helpful staff - excellent hotel. A great find ! Would come back here again.
Wow! Lovely, quiet, clean well run gem
My wife, son and I stayed three night in a Junior Suite. Very clean, well fitted out, spacious room with very good air conditioning. Staff was very helpful, courteous, and friendly. They made excellent restaurant recommendations. Great quiet location quite near the castle and plenty of activities. Lovely back garden and plentiful breakfast. Definitely will return.
L'accoglienza é stata veloce e calorosa.
Wiederholungsfaktor: immer wieder)
What a breakfast room!
Situated in an elevated position near the German & U S Embassies the hotel offers really comfortable accommodation. The main feature however is the almost baronial breakfast room on the second floor. With huge wooden beams and large chandeliers it almost turns breakfast into a medieval feast.
Met by John at reception was very knowledgeable about the area. There was place to park the groups 8 bikes while we explored the city sights. Rooms were very large and spacious with bar fridge and nespresso maker. Bed fit for a king and his queen. Breakfasts were great with an assortment of cold meats and breads. I really enjoyed the fresh salmon which was awesome. Coffee and service with a
We loved everything about this hotel, and could not find a single fault. The location in a quiet and picturesque part of Mala Strana was great; we could walk everywhere but were not on top of gangs of late night partiers. The suite was huge, and very well appointed, like having a luxurious Prague apartment. The breakfast was by far the best of any of our hotels on this trip as there were numerous hot and cold options and even a full dessert display. Plus it was served in a beautiful attic room that dates back to the middle ages. Appia Hotel is the definition of a quaint lodging, historic and charming and comfortable. We were really sorry to leave!
Lovely hotel, clean rooms, generous and tasty breakfast and very accommodating staff. The receptionist arranged for my partner to have his breakfast made up the night before his race as he would be up too early.
